Device modes
Device policies set normal behavior and locking configuration. Authorized mobile users can also apply temporary overrides from a lock's detail controls.
View normal behavior
The app can display the current behavior and locking state, including scheduled transitions where available. Standard, Standard-spin, and Efficiency describe wake and synchronization behavior. The site's web Device Policies page is where authorized users change those policies.
For an externally managed Link site, the external access-control system owns the normal configuration.
Service mode
- Stand near the lock and open its device details.
- Select Enter for Service mode when available.
- Read and confirm the warning.
- Carry out the required maintenance and exit Service mode when finished.
Service mode gives direct control of the pins for a ten-minute window. Normal credentials stop working during that window. The app describes the confirmation indication, and the lock exits when the timer expires.
Hibernate
Hibernate puts the device into a low-power state and stops normal credential operation.
- Confirm that the door can be taken out of normal service.
- Open the lock's Hibernate control and choose Sleep.
- Review the warning and confirm.
- Use Wake, or the supported at-door wake action described for the device, when it should return to use.
The site's policy must allow sleep, and the device and server must support it. Service mode and hibernate controls can be unavailable while another override is active. Follow the status shown instead of repeatedly submitting the command.
The app can still offer an eligible nearby unlock while a device is in hibernate; hibernate alone does not disable that app control. Service mode does block ordinary unlocks. Follow the device's response and wake instructions.
A member or visitor pass does not provide maintenance authority. Configurer and service-pass tools depend on their granted permissions.
