Send temporary access

Use Temporary Access at a site to email a time-limited door or service pass. You need permission to issue access at that site.

A service pass gives maintenance capabilities as well as door access. Choose the type appropriate for the recipient's work.

Before sending

Check the selected site. Door passes require guest-pass setup to be enabled and ready in the site's Aliro settings. If setup is incomplete, follow the displayed status and contact the site administrator.

A door pass covers the site's doors; the send dialog is not a per-door access-grant editor.

Send a pass

  1. Open the site's Temporary Access page and start the send flow.
  2. Enter the recipient's email and choose the pass type.
  3. Choose an immediate or later start and set the end time.
  4. Check the site time zone and summary, then send.

The dialog starts with a four-hour window and supports a window of up to 24 hours. Check the exact start and end before sending.

Track sent passes

The page groups passes into active, scheduled, and ended entries. Review the recipient, issuer, and whether the link has been opened. An unopened link and a redeemed pass represent different stages of the same send.

An opened status means the link was redeemed; it is not evidence of a door unlock. Use device activity to investigate an access attempt.

Help the recipient

Ask them to open the email link on the phone they will use at the door. If they need to install the app, they should return to the original link after installation. Pass redemption requires connectivity.

A pass already claimed on another phone cannot simply be claimed again. Issue a new pass if the app reports that the original was already used.
