Lights and messages

Look at where the signal appears and when it happens. The physical lock's light and the colored lock picture in Seamless describe different things. Use the app's written result alongside the light.

On the physical lock

These are the normal signals for supported Seamless lock firmware. A slow breathing light fades in and out; a pulse is a shorter flash. Maintenance actions can produce additional patterns.

SignalMeaningWhat to do
Blue, two slow breaths when wakingThe lock has woken normally. This is not an access approval.Present your credential or use the app.
Green after presenting a credentialThe credential was accepted. The locking mode determines what the lock does next.Operate the door when it releases; see the mode guide if it stays secured.
Red, three short pulses after an attemptThe credential attempt was not accepted.Check the credential, door, and permitted time. Ask the site for help if it repeats.
Yellow, two slow breaths on wake or five short pulses after accessLow battery.Tell the site which lock needs attention. A battery warning after green does not undo the accepted read.
Red, two slow breaths on wake or five short pulses after accessCritical battery warning during ordinary use.Report it promptly; the lock needs maintenance. Distinguish this from the three-pulse rejection pattern.
Orange, five short pulsesThe lock needs a recovery pause after its internal power supply dropped.Allow it to recover before trying again. Report repeated orange warnings.
Purple, five short pulsesAn identify command is helping someone locate this lock. This does not grant access. Wait for the identification to finish.
Purple breathing around maintenanceInstallation or service activity.Follow the site's directions; ordinary credentials do not work in Service mode.
No lightThe lock may be idle, waiting for a spin, hibernating, in service, or need maintenance.Wake it normally, check the app, and contact the site if it stays unresponsive.

A green light confirms acceptance; it does not prove the door is physically open or closed. Likewise, a relock action does not close a door left ajar.

In the Seamless app

The lock illustration can change color during an action. Yellow in the app can mean out of schedule; yellow on the physical lock means a battery warning. Read the accompanying text before deciding what to do.

App feedbackMeaning and next step
Blue/loadingThe action is in progress. Stay near the lock and wait for its result.
Green/successThe action succeeded. For an unlock, operate the door within its unlock window.
Red/failureThe action failed. Read the error; color alone does not explain why.
Red/out of rangeMove closer and check Bluetooth permission. Wake the lock if required.
Yellow/out of scheduleYour access is not valid at this time. Check your hours or pass window with the site.
Purple/identifyingThe app is identifying a lock, rather than unlocking it.
Service modeNormal unlocks are unavailable during maintenance. Contact site staff.

What to tell the site contact

Give the door name, the approximate time, whether you used the app, a card, or a wallet, and the exact message or light pattern. Mention whether the light appeared on wake, immediately after presenting, or after a green confirmation. Do not send anyone your access-link token or password.
